Luanda - Angola presented the top priorities of the strategy of its presidency for 2023-2025 on Sunday in Belgium.
The country’s strategy was presented by the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities Abroad, Domingos Custódio Vieira Lopes, at the 16th Session of the Council of Ministers of the OACPS, held in Brussels.
In his speech, Domingos Custódio Vieira Lopes stressed Angola’s responsibilities as chair of the organisation.
He expressed the country’s pledge to strengthen the vision of the three continents, three oceans, a common destination, a strong and lasting OACPS.
Among the priorities, the official mentioned the institutionalisation of an annual meeting of the Troika of OACPS Heads of State and Government Summits, biennial meeting on natural resources, oil and its by-products.
The meeting of the Speakers of National Parliament for next year, is also part of priorities.
During the meeting of the Council of Ministers, Domingos Vieira Lopes presented a report on Ministerial Committee on Financing for Development Cooperation, which approved the resource mobilisation strategy for the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States.
The delegation comprises Angolan Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union, Mário de Azevedo Constantino, the coordinator of support activities for the OACPS National Focal Point and technicians from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX).
Angola is represented by the Secretary General, Georges Rebelo Chikoti, at the presidency of OACPS.
OACPS main goal is to ensure the sustainable development of its member States and their progressive integration into the world economy. VM/MRA/NIC
