Luanda - Angolan Foreign minister, Téte António, reassured Friday that his country remains focused on materialising its foreign policy.
The minister, who was speaking at the New Year greetings ceremony, said the aim is to attract more foreign investment to the country, since this is the top priority of President João Lourenço's agenda.
Regarding the actions carried out in 2022, the minister highlighted the various joint commissions and political consultations that, in his view, have contributed to strengthening cooperation and broadening areas of common interest.
According to the diplomat, those actions have contributed to Angola's affirmation abroad, adding that in that field the indicators were positive.
The minister noted that 2022 was marked by intense diplomatic activity on the bilateral and multilateral level led by President João Lourenço.
He went on to underline that Angola saw its role as an "essential player" in Africa strengthened, but also to open up "new horizons of cooperation," with partners in Africa, Asia, America and Europe.
Téte António underscored the Angolan President's participation in mediating the political tension between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda.
The minister reminded that, at the proposal of Angola, the African Union held in May the 16th Extraordinary Conference of Heads of State and Government.
The conference was dedicated to terrorism and unconstitutional changes of regime in Africa, held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
