Luanda - The Speaker of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira on Monday expressed her dismay at the death of the former speaker of the German parliament, Wolfgang Shauble.
In a message sent to her counterpart Barbel Bas, Carolina Cerqueira highlighted the deceased as a persistent fighter for democracy and one of the architects of the reunification of Germany and an uncompromising defender of a united and democratic Europe.
"On behalf of the Angolan MPs, I address my heartfelt condolences to the German parliamentarians and to the family and friends of the late Wolfgang Shauble, whose memory and example of life will remain present in the history of world parliamentarianism and the Republic of Germany," reads the message.
