Luanda - The National Assembly Speaker, Carolina Cerqueira, on Wednesday expressed satisfaction with the Angola national football team for the way they dignified the country with their performance at the Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Côte d'Ivoire.
On behalf of all the parliamentarians, the Speaker expressed words of appreciation to the players, coaches and support staff and to all those who have created the conditions and overcome the difficulties for a successful participation in CAN 2023, thus raising Angola's prestige.
"Our congratulations for having marked yet another illustrious page in Angolan football, and perhaps African football, by qualifying," the Speaker said, having wished Angolan football every success in the future.
The Speaker also congratulated the MP Elizandra Wassuka for winning two bronze medals at the recent world wrestling championships in France.
"Congratulations on having represented our country with great dignity," the Speaker said.
Angola was among the eight best African teams, thanks to its quarter-final finish in the Africa Cup of Nations.DC/VIC/AMP
