Luanda - The Memorandum of Understanding signed on Wednesday between the Republic of Angola and the Arab Republic of Egypt in the field of security and public safety will cover all bodies attached to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to the minister of Home Affairs, Eugénio Laborinho, the Memorandum is global and will cover the national police, public security, criminal investigation, forensic laboratories, migration services, penitentiaries and civil protection and firefighter matters.
Speaking to the press after the signing of the legal memorandum by himself, and by Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, he acknowledged the vast experience in that Arab country, highlighting the fields of public security, combating terrorism and illegal immigration.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who arrived Tuesday in Angola for 2-days state visit.
Based on one of the signed terms, the two countries will also share experience in the field of mobility and road safety.
Angola and Egypt formalized relations of political-diplomatic cooperation on March 26, 1987, through the signing, in Luanda, of the General Agreement on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
According to information obtained by ANGOP, there is great interest from both countries in increasing cooperation in areas such as Economy, Trade and Industry, Education, Higher Education and Technical Training. NE/SC/ADR/DOJ
