Luanda - The first edition of the Luanda Fashion Summit was launched Friday, in Luanda, with the goal of creating an expansion mode of the Angolan fashion, culture and industry.
The event, that will take place from April 21st to 23rd, at Shopping Fortaleza, was unveiled by the secretary of State for Culture, Maria da Piedade de Jesus, is also being supported by the Ministry of Economy and Planning in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
To the official, the event aims to make a contribution to the country’s development processs by highlighting the role of small, medium and large sized companies.
Maria da Piedade de Jesus said that fashion is an industry that brings together many others, and due to that she advocated the continuity of the festival and in a larger space to create business opportunities.
On his turn, the television host Kayaya Júnior, organizer of the event, said that young people will be able to take advantage of the value chain and initiatives of the textile sector to better develop their activities.
“The goal is to bring together the three fundamental supports for building the fashion industry in Angola, as well as providing a reflection on how to communicate fashion in a different way”, he explained.
He added that to develop its activities, the textile sector can, in fact, create jobs.
“We make our services available to formalize the possibility of accessing financing lines. We intend to communicate fashion, in a different way, during these three days to rethink and leave here with ways on how to communicate the fashion industry”, he concluded.
The exhibitor Inocêncio Santos said that this is a great opportunity for fashion producers to show their work in the Angolan market.
During the activity, the National Institute of Support for Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (INAPEM), made available its services in order to formalize the possibility of accessing the financing lines.
The event has 50 exhibitors with the aim of during the three days event to expand national fashion to the national market and meet all the fields in the fashion industry, as well as to reflect the future.
The event counts on the participation of fifity exhibitors.
