Caxito – The work Yolela, by writer Vasco Graça Capemba, won the 2nd edition of the Ngandu Literary Prize, in the province of Bengo.
Yolela is a narrative, divided into several short stories, that disseminates and promotes the province's culture through the national language Kimbundo.
According to the competition organization, 21 works from different literary genres competed for the prize.
The winner will receive an amount of 500.000Kz and will have their work published in a book with 300 copies.
The awards gala takes place in April as part of the anniversary festivities of the province of Bengo.
Established by the Bengo News portal, the Ngandu Literary Prize aims to stimulate the production of literary works written by authors residing in the province of Bengo.
The first edition of the award took place in 2021/2022 and was won by Domingos Mignaldo with the work “Coléricus”.
