Lubango - Angolans should continue safeguarding the national cultural heritage to promote closer proximity among themselves, the executive director of the National Union of Artists and Composers (UNAC-SA), Serafim Afonso said Thursday.
The official made the statement during a lecture on "The cultural identity and heritage of our land," in Lubango as part of the celebrations of January 08, National Culture Day to be held Saturday.
Serafim Afonso said the cultural heritage is an "indispensable" element in the life of men and its protection will contribute to the strengthening of the rescue of cultural values, which strengthens the identity of Angolan culture.
He added that the rescue of cultural values depends on the elaboration of a strategy of deep social research based on the dynamic growth of the society, hence the development of culture should be accompanied by the collectivism and their institutions.
