Luanda -The Trio Mwana Africa won on Saturday, the 4th edition of the "Luanda Gentes e Músicas" competition held in Luanda’s Viana municipality and will represent the district in the provincial competition.
The contest had 10 candidates and was an initiative of the production companies AF- Entretenimento & Nossa Cena, Arte e Produções and aims to rescue Angolan ancestral music, through new talents and new voices.
The jury, composed by renowned musicians of Angola, had as criteria the lyrics, music, melody, harmonic harmony, interpretation and voice.
Speaking to the press at the end of the event, the member of the winning group, Valdirene Paxe, said he was pleased with the victory and assured that everyone will work harder for the next challenges that lie ahead
On the occasion, the Secretary of State for Youth, Fernando Francisco João, praised the project initiative for awakening the conscience of young people in the quest for habits and customs, as well as allowing the discovery of new talented musicians.
