Luanda - A team of directors from the United States of America (USA), composed of five professionals, will work in Angola from January 10, 2025, for the production of a film entitled 'The Recluse - the beginning and the end of an injustice', ANGOP learned.
According to a press release, these are directors Cynthia Érivo, Marcos Polo, Jonathan Brown, Gesths Erven and Murphi Stefani, who will shoot the film in the province of Huambo.
According to the statement, the film compacts the story narrated in the book by Angolan writer Nituecheni Africano, which contains the same title as the cinematographic work.
The note states that the film is a short film and will also be shot in Nigeria.
The plot revolves around a young Angolan man who goes to prison for being unjustly accused of drug trafficking and unfolds, a cunning lawyer appears who will dive into a serious investigation to find the culprit.
Money laundering, abuse of power, influence peddling are nuances of the plot in the film, loaded with action and drama.
The book 'The Recluse - the beginning and the end of an injustice' was the winner of the last contest held last August in New York City, USA.
Speaking to ANGOP about the adaptation of his book, the writer Nituecheni Africano believes that the arrival of American directors represents the talent that exists at the national level.
He said it was the culmination of his dream when he saw his writings being adapted into a film.
He stressed that the film will provide an opportunity to raise the National Flag to the highest level and also show the potential of Angolan tourism.
'This does not make me proud, but it makes me want to continue writing to be able to contribute to the development of Angola, especially in the matter of literature. I believe I am the first Angolan to write for this great film industry in the world,' he said.
The Angolan writer's book consists of 12 chapters and 218 pages. AMC/SEC/DOJ
