Luanda - The process of Angolan archival collection scattered in foreign institutions has been halted due to financial issues and the Covid-19 pandemic, the director of the National Archive of Angola, Alexandra Aparício, said on Thursday.
Alexandra Aparicio explained that, unfortunately, the process started in 2014, has been put on hold as a result of the difficulties imposed by the pandemic.
Alexandra Aparício also said he believes that the process may be resumed as soon as the financial conditions are created and the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic are lifted.
The National Archive of Angola is a public institute with legal personality, administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy, whose mission is to coordinate the national archival policy and evaluate, collect, classify, preserve and disseminate documents of archival and historical value.
