Luanda - The Politburo of the ruling MPLA party Sunday mourned the death of the Queen Nhakatolo occurred on Saturday in Luanda at the age of 86.
In its press note reached ANGOP, MPLA expresses deepest condolences to the bereaved family, population of the eastern Moxico province and Alto Zambeze in particular.
Holder of the throne since 2004, the Queen had always been a staunch supporter of the noblest interests of the people of the tribe and their descendants, MPLA said in its press note.
MPLA added in its note that Nhakatolo's rule was marked by the spirit of loyalty, respect for the cultural values of ancestry and the maintenance of the royal lineage.
The Politburo described the death of the sovereign as a loss of the collective memory of the people of her kingdom, in particular, and of Angola, in general.
On behalf of the party's militants, sympathisers and friends, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of MPLA bows to the memory of the deceased, expressing wishes for her eternal rest. ART/DAN/NIC
