Luanda – Mbaxi Eventos is due to hold the first edition of the "2023 Luanda Handicrafts Fair” to take place from September 27 to 30, the event organizer, Claudio Patricio told ANGOP Monday.
Claudio Patricio said the fair aims to promote and disseminate Angolan handicrafts and to encourage exchange between artists in a business space, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Luanda Provincial Government.
The event will also promote live shows with folk songs and workshops in which artisans will explain how to produce pieces.
Patricio added that the idea is to bring together up to 150 exhibitors, of which 50 will be artisans and the remaining 100 will exhibit food, African fashion and Rastafarian community traders.
In addition to Luanda, the exhibitors come from the provinces of Bié, Uíge, Cuanza Norte, Malanje, Lunda Sul and Lunda Norte.
The fair is part of the celebrations of the National Hero Day, Antonio Agostinho Neto, the First president of Angola. SJ/ART/AMP
