Luanda – The Angolan musician and songwriter Maya Cool on Saturday in Luanda called for more financial investment, with the aim to boost and spread Angolan music abroad.
Speaking to ANGOP during the release of his new album, "Histórias", in Luanda independence square, the artist said that although music has been evolving positively in recent years, it is essential to invest in boosting the cultural and creative industries, especially music and dance.
The musician spoke of the need for the Patronage Law to work and for the public and private sectors to get involved in social responsibilities.
The release was marked by the large presence of foreign tourists from various European and American countries, who bought the CD and danced to the rhythm of national music in the Kizomba and Semba styles.
With regard to this aspect, the massive presence of the public, Maya Cool considered it an obvious sign of the quality of the music currently being made in the country, with which the commitment and dedication of the artists makes it possible to take culture across borders.
The album released 11 years after his last one, features different musicians, including Tito Paris, Eduardo Paím, Matias Damásio, Ary, Konde and Puto Português, as well as the musician’s daughter Malunne.
