Luanda – Angolan writer Manuel Rui Monteiro has announced plans to release new literary works soon, with stress to “Boneca de Trapos”, “Boxer Benguelese” and two poetry books.
Manuel Monteiro made the announcement on the sidelines of the first solo exhibition by artist Júlio Pintos on Saturday in Luanda.
“Boxer Benguelese”, portrays the story of an Angolan who traveled the world and became champion in the Brazil, and two works of poetry, already fully completed.
Manuel Rui Alves Monteiro was born in central Huambo province on 4 November 1941.
He is an Angolan writer, author of poetry, short stories, novels and works for the theatre.
Manuel Rui is a founding member of the Angolan Artists and Composers Association.
