Ondjiva – A total of One 1,375 books by various national and foreign authors are on display at the Cuanhama Municipal Tribune, southern Cunene Province, aiming to guarantee the accessibility to different literary works by the local population.
Speaking Friday to ANGOP, the project coordinator, Carlos Gonçalves, said that the books, on display since March 28th, will be available to interested citizens for 15 days, to respond to the population's growing demand for a space where they can find books to enrich their research.
He made it known that the activity will be extended to the provinces of Cuando-Cubango, Huila, Namibe and Cuanza-Sul, with the aim of presenting and bringing literary works closer to the academic community and the general population.
He said that they were essentially manuals in the areas of pedagogy, law, psychology, motivational ones, mathematics, medicine, philosophy, sociology, Portuguese and English languages, poetry, short stories and children's literature.
Cunene only has a single municipal library, located in Ondjiva, with a bibliographic collection of 5,100 books, as well as two reading rooms in the Media Library and House of Culture.
