Luanda - Seven Angolan dancers will be honored, from 24 to 25 of this month at the “Liga Africana” venue in Luanda, in an event called Show of the Stars, promoted by “Incrível África” production company.
The artists to be honored for their achievements in dance in Angola are Rosimary Chaves 'Gigi que Kuia', Helena Neto 'Hellie Groove', Nilton Soares 'Guime ZP', Luís Miguel 'Luís Amazing', Euclides Moura 'Tronchudo', José da Piedade 'Único B' and Wilson Lázaro 'Wi Pax Mustang'.
According to Nilton Soares speaking to ANGOP on Tuesday, as part of the Art of Dancing project, the Show of the Stars aims to teach a lesson on the importance of producing content that can increasingly boost the creative industry.
"We want to once again show that with properly organized work and with serious people and institutions (focused on the performing arts), any dance artist should and will always be respected", he said.
Below the profile of the honored artists
Nilton Soares is a dancer, choreographer and leader of the Urban Dance Group Zona Perigosa (Danger zone).
Luís Miguel is a choreographer, dancer, visual artist, playwright and founder of Incrível África production company.
José da Piedade is a Portuguese language teacher, dancer, choreographer and promoter of research on the African continent, and promotes the artistic project IMA IMOXI.
Euclides Moura is a dance teacher at the Art School Complex (CEARTE), choreographer and dancer. He has a degree in dance made in Brazil and is the winner of one of the editions of the television dance competition called Bounce.
Rosymari Chaves is a dancer, choreographer and member of the dance group Kilandukilo. She is one of Angola's most international dance artists.
Helena Neto is a dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. She represented Angola at the Idaeb Festival held in Brazil this year.
Wilson Lázaro is the best popper in Angola. He has twice won the Southern Africa Popping Championship.
The Incrível África production company has been in existence since 2009 and has already promoted 400 dance shows, with highlights including the pieces “Maluco Consciente” (Conscious Madman), Fama (Fame), Morrer Para (Dying For), Fragmentos de Kassamba (Fragments of Kassamba) and "Vivendo contra o Vento” (Living Against the Wind).
