Dundo - The Brilhante Foundation announced early in the week the construction of a regional center for culture and arts, in the eastern corridor of Angola with the aim to disseminate, preserve and enhance the cultural values of Lunda Tchokwe.
The announcement was made by the assistant general director for the area of studies and projects of Fundação Brilhante, Flávio Fernandes, stressing that the center will have, among other compartments, a cultural space, galleries, handicraft rooms, auditoriums and restaurants.
Without revealing in which eastern province it will be built and the date of the beginning of the construction work, he said the construction of the center is part of a range of actions of social responsibility of the diamond exploration companies for this year.
He also said that six schools and one medical post will be built in each of the three eastern provinces (Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul and Moxico), and scholarships will be awarded, through a protocol with INAGBE (National Institute for Scholarship Management).
Support for family agriculture, honey production in Moxico, fish farming, construction of playgrounds, planting of 3,000 eucalyptus plants to mitigate ravines in the centrality of Mussungue, are part of the range of projects to be implemented this year in the east of the country.
Fundação Brilhante is considered the social arm of the National Diamond Company of Angola (ENDIAMA EP).
