Luanda – Angola Press Agency (ANGOP) journalist Mpaulu Rodrigues Aguiar makes his debut in the literary world with the launch, on Friday, of the work titled “Reticências declarações e omissões íntimas” Reticence: Intimate declarations and omissions.
Speaking to ANGOP, Mpaulu Poeta Sol, his literary pseudonym, said that the book addresses social aspects of African identity, religion and politics, in addition to exalting love and women.
The book comprises twenty five poems and two reflective texts in prose, a historical one about the African prophet Simão Gonçalves Toko, and other motivational one.
About the author
Mpaulu Poeta Sol, in addition to being a poet, he is a graphic designer and actor.
Despite this debut, Mpaulu has digitally published the books “Poemas reticências”, “D tudo 1 copo” and “Casei com minha irmã?” in 2022.
Graduated in Social Communication, he is also the author of several poems scattered in anthologies in Angola, Namibia (Township Productions), Brazil (Revista Ómnira edition 2013, Anthology and Contests) and Colombia (Festival Internacional de Poesía de Medellín).
He is a member of the Youth Brigade of Literature of Angola, Township Productions (a cultural organisation in Namibia), Literarte – Brasil and a founding member and general coordinator of the APS Group (art, culture and education).
