Luanda - National Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries (INICC) of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced Tuesday in Luanda the opening of applications for the Sagrada Esperança Literary Prize, 2023 Edition.
According to a press release, the institution, in partnership with the António Agostinho Neto Foundation and Caixa Angola Bank, reveals that enrollment ends on the 31st of May.
The prize is a tribute to the poet António Agostinho Neto, the first President of the Republic of Angola, and is aimed at Angolan authors with or without published work.
The goal is to promote the symbolic and imaginary enrichment of the Portuguese language through literary discourse.
It also serves to encourage literary creation among national authors, as well as to ensure the regular and widespread appearance of new works.
Thus, throughout its existence, 14 prizes were awarded, nine in prose and four in poetry, as well as four honorable mentions, three in poetry and one in prose, marking the publication of 17 titles.
Therefore, the organisation of the award invites everyone to participate in the edition of the award to honour its patron and contribute to the continuous enhancement of Angolan Literature. VIC
