Luanda - The play “Eternally virgin” (Eternamente virgem), by the theater group Horizonte Njinga Mbande, will be performed on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of this month, in the auditorium of the Njinga Mbande School, in Luanda.
Speaking to ANGOP on Wednesday, the group's press officer Paulina Esdras, said that the play that is inspired by everyday life aims to show apparent judgments, social differences, academic matters and marital relationships.
“Our objective, with this play, is to show that the relationship between two people is like a garden, where obviously if we do not water the flowers they won't bloom, the same is the relationship”, she asserted.
However, founded on October 8, 1986, by Adelino Caracol and Ezequiel Issenguele, the group has several pieces exhibited, including “The Returned”, “The Bible”, “The Mother-in-Law”, “The Prodigal Son”, “The Plague”, a work by the Angolan writer Óscar Ribas, adapted by Adelino Caracol, and "Caito of the Angolan writer Unhenga Xitu”, also an adaptation by Adelino Caracol.
The group obtained third classification at the National Culture Festival (Fenacult), in 1989, National Culture and Art Award, in the theater category, in 2007, as well as the Angola 35° Award degrees, in the culture and arts category in 2012. Horizonte Njinga Mbande is made up of 76 members, aged between 65 and 2 years old. FMC/AC/MRA/DOJ
