Luanda – At least 15 art pieces of the Angolan artist Fineza Teta started being exhibited from November 16 to 26 at Expo Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The works portray the culture of the Lunda Chokwe people including painting, installation and sculpture.
Speaking to ANGOP about her participation in the event, which will also have the participation of more national professionals; the artist expressed her satisfaction for the opportunity that she has to display Angola's culture abroad.
The Angolan pavilion occupies an area of 2,300 square meters, has a Sona format (area drawings), typical of the Lunda Cokwe people and seeks to highlight a contemporary Angola through the works of several artists.
A variety of presentations of the country's music, painting, gastronomy and education are prepared for display in the pavilion, whose event runs from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
Teta lamented the current moment of the arts in the country, in view of the difficulties that artists in general are going through, resulting from the lack of support from law institutions and the business class.
Fineza Teta encouraged other artists a lot of persistence, defending the creation of mechanisms that adapt to the current context.
The Côkwe people are a Bantu ethnic group concentrated mainly in northeastern Angola.
