Luanda - Angolan fashion designer Nadir Tati Friday inaugurated an exhibition of clothes in Luanda Province to honour Angola's capital city.
The event, which took place at the Palácio de Ferro venue, baptised "Nadir by Luanda", with the support of the Provincial Government of Luanda, brought to the capital city clothes that have already been exhibited in Paris, France.
Speaking to the press, the designer said came to Angola to give opportunities to all lovers of her art to witness her work.
As a designer she emphasised that she had pieces with moments and places of reference related to the capital city, thus joining fashion to culture, tradition and history of Angola, as a look and demonstration of territorial identity for those who visit the space.
She considered the showcase of 30 pieces, which will be on display for eight days, as her contribution to the country's growth through art, demonstrating that she is attentive and with Angola, towards development.
On the occasion, the governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, said it was a unique moment and invited the people of Luanda to visit the clothing exhibition, adding that the fashion designer aims to promote what is national and due to that it should deserve support from all society.
The provincial governor said that the honour was a source of satisfaction, and thanked Nadir Tati for his attention to Luanda.
Nadir Tati (Lusiane Casimiro Tati) was born on 2 September 1974, in the city of Luanda.
She received the award for best creator in Angola in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Also in 2012 she was named Diva of the moment and in 2013 at the Sirius Awards she was awarded the personality category for her excellence in business and raising the country's name worldwide.
She was elected Ambassador of the Luanda Biennial Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace, and in 2022 was honoured with a diploma of merit by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment.
In the same year, she was honoured by the Head of State, João Lourenço, with the Medal of Bravery and Civic and Social Merit, 1st class.
