Luanda - Angolan writers Egna Alegre de Sousa and Fátima Moniz were awarded, on Monday, in Castilla León, Spain, with the title of Doctor Honoris Causa, in recognition of their literary projects that promote creativity, hope in children and feminine strength.
According to a press release, that ANGOP received on Wednesday, the recognition was made by the Chamber of Writers and Artists of Spain, Peru and Switzerland (CIESART) which brought together writers and artists from different parts of the world to celebrate global peace and recognize the talent of influential figures in literature and the arts.
The writers were awarded for the project “Rimas e Contos dos Pequenos” (Rhymes and Tales for the Little ones), an initiative that aims to cultivate noble feelings in children through literature, in addition to the literary project “Avança Mulher” (Go Ahead Woman), an anthology that becomes a legacy of union and female empowerment.
On the other hand, both were also awarded the "CIESART Tribute to William Shakespeare Awards", in the Humanities and Peace category, and Egna de Sousa the "CIESART 2024 Woman of the Year".
CIESART, with legal headquarters in Spain, Peru and Switzerland, brings together influential personalities in the cultural, literary and artistic fields to hold a series of large-scale official and international events.
