Luanda - Angola writer Grace Medeiros Araújo, with the literary pseudonym “Otchaly”, was the biggest attraction of the special program of the Brazilian Senate, held in Brasília, in allusion to the 25th of May, Africa Day, ANGOP learned today Thursday.
According to a note, the event, held on Tuesday, May 21st, at the Federal Senate library, served to highlight the riches and cultural diversity of the African continent, with Angola taking center stage with the exhibition of literary works and crafts by writers and national artists.
On the occasion, the Angolan ambassador to Brazil, Manuel Eduardo Bravo, highlighted the importance of culture in building friendship ties between countries and peoples, recognizing the excellent relations between the two countries.
In turn, the director general of the Federal Senate of Brazil, Ilana Trombka, congratulated the young Angolan writer, stating that Otchaly is an example of maturity to follow, in Africa and the world.
In an open and direct dialogue with those present, the 15-year-old writer spoke about her literary trajectory and her sources of inspiration, stating that she feels proud to write and share literature with different audiences.
Otchaly also expressed her solidarity with the children of Rio Grande do Sul, who are experiencing difficulties due to the heavy rains that are ravaging that Brazilian state.
The young writer has two works on the market, namely "Nzinga, a Rainha Angolana" (2020) and “Determinação a minha História com o Bulling” (2023). AB/MCN/CF/DOJ
