Ombadja - The first methodological meeting of culture held over the weekend in the municipality of Ombadja, Cunene province, recommended greater rigor in the legalization of churches, so that their activity is aimed at the moralization of society.
Cunene province has 47 recognized churches and 18 that have entered processes to the provincial office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports for their legalization.
The participants at the meeting, which addressed, among other issues, the religious phenomenon in Cunene province, said that in addition to the required documentation, pastors of new churches must present theology training certificates, which qualify them to exercise the activity.
"There are some churches that are not attached to the gospel, rescue of moral values and moralization of families, promoting dubious actions that tarnish the name of God," the final communiqué states.
The participants defend that the municipal administrations should locate and propose the classification of monuments and sites, create municipal committees for the protection of cultural heritage, preservation and invest in the training of the culture makers.
On the occasion, the director of Culture in Cunene, Marcelino dos Santos Guilherme, said that the first methodological meeting served to reflect on the Angolan cultural transversality in the face of current demands.
