Luanda – Candidate Edivânia Soares, from the province of Huambo, won in the early hours of this Sunday (22), in Luanda, the 7th edition of the Miss Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) Angola 2023 beauty contest.
The Saturday night's gala had the participation of 16 candidates.
Edivânia Soares, 25, will represent Angola, in April 2024, in Portugal, at the CPLP gala, an international competition in which representatives of the countries that make up that community participate.
Noémia José, from the province of Benguela, was elected miss photogenic, Deográcia Cuty (Luanda) won the miss ecological category, and Luema Bengui, from Cuanza Sul, was the goodwill ambassador.
In this contest, Djamila Barboza, from the province of Bengo, was elected Miss Friendly, and Carlota Cipriano, from Lunda Norte, won the influence category.
The event was also marked by the election of the representative of the best province, a new category in miss CPLP Angola, in which the young woman from Bié, Benvinda Felizberto, was the winner, as well as Miss Ubunto, with the representative from the province of Uíge, Marcela Quissanga, won this category.
Speaking to the press, Edivânia Soares pointed out as one of the goals of her mandate, the development of actions aimed at preserving the environment, especially with regard to the oceans.
The Miss CPLP competition aims to promote good social practices and principles that aim to stimulate the social, cultural and tourist development of the societies that make up this Portuguese-speaking community.
