Ramiros- An exhibition of twenty-five paintings by Angolan artist Adão Mussungo has been running since Friday in Luanda.
The exhibition, on show at the Avenida Shopping Centre, is entitled "The Love of the King", in honour of one of the greatest composers of reggae music, Bob Marley.
"The Love of the King" portrays love and social justice, themes that Bob Marley addressed in most of his songs.
The artist used oil on canvas, acrylic and mixed media techniques. The works were created over a period of two years.
The exhibition ends on 15 March and can be seen from 9am to 6pm.
According to the artist, the exhibition appeals to society to promote love, social justice, solidarity and other positive feelings expressed by Bob Marley in his songs.
Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley) was born on 6 February 1945 in Jamaica and died in Miami on 11 May 1981.
Famous for popularising reggae internationally, he sold more than 75 million music discs and in 1978, three years before his death, he was awarded the "Third World Peace Medal" by the United Nations (UN).
Adão Mussungo was born in Luanda on 3 May 1981. He is a painter, draughtsman, illustrator, assistant curator and designer, with a degree in Painting from the National Institute for Artistic Training.
