Luanda - The Minister of Culture and Tourism (Mincultur) Filipe Zau on Wednesday highlighted the role of private sector for employment and professional growth of culture and arts makers.
The minister made this statement on the occasion of the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the National Union of Artists and Composers (UNAC) and the Association of Hotels and Resorts of Angola (AHRA).
Filipe Zau stressed that this commitment will contribute to making better quality products and guaranteed income for artists.
He pointed out that the signing of the memorandum is very relevant for the existence of a permanent Cultural Agenda in hotels and resorts, which should include live music, theatre play, dance halls, art and handicraft as an added value for the guests.
He explained that this cultural agenda is an additional product for travel agencies, tourist guides, hotels, resorts, restaurants and all stakeholders in the area and it will bring benefits to the hotels, since the quality of the artists on display will contribute to an increase in occupancy rates, revenue and in the workforce in the tourism sector.
About the memorandum, he said that it creates the prospect of an increase in quantitative and qualitative terms of employment for both sectors.
