Luanda- The lyricist Carlos Praia, with the song "Cassule ", interpreted by singer Zinga Sona, won on Friday night the 25th edition of the Luanda Song Festival, organized by Luanda Antena Comercial (LAC) radio station, whose gala took place at the TV Zimbo courtyard.
According to the lyricist, the song which he entitled “Cassule” refers to the passage of testimony from father to son about facts of life and the world that await him when he grows up.
As a prize, Carlos Praia, who expressed satisfaction for the achievement, received a certificate of participation and 5 million kwanzas.
For performing the song, Zinga Sona won the award for Best Voice and LAC Unitel Award and received 3 million Kwanzas.
Zinga Sona was thankful for the opportunity to participate in the contest, as well as the satisfaction of taking home for the first time this great prize.
On the occasion, the provincial governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, said that this event has allowed young people to be launched in the world of music to continuously honour Angolan culture.
“We are fortunate that this type of event happens in our province, not only to give opportunity to culture makers, but also to great composers who often inspire our generation and several other generations”, said the governor.
The event which had good moments of musical entertainment, the production of this edition was notable for the rhapsody that brought together, on the same stage, different generations of Angolan musicians.
At the end, the audience was granted with some hit songs of Filipe Mukenga, who was honoured by the organization.
With the motto "The perfume of time in the songs of our lives", this year's edition of the Luanda Song Festival had 10 competitors, in which some competed with their own songs.
The Luanda Song Festival is an annual festival for songwriters and singers, which aims to reward the creativity and originality of composers.
