Luanda – The bust of the late and first president of Angola, António Agostinho Neto, was unveiled this Tuesday in the National Museum of Lusaka, capital city of Zambia, in a ceremony which was attended by the Angolan minister of Culture and Tourism, Filipe Zau.
The bust was unveiled jointly by minister Filipe Zau and Zambia’s minister of Water Development and Sanitation, Mike Mposha.
The ceremony, which was also attended by the widow of the late president, Maria Eugênia Neto, included the handover of books and audiovisual material by the António Agostinho Neto Foundation to the National Museum of Lusaka.
Cooperation
In the fulfilment of his working agenda, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Filipe Zau, met today with the Zambian Minister of Water Development and Sanitation, Mike Mposha, with whom he discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation, mainly in the areas of culture and tourism.
Angola and Zambia have good friendly relations and recently both countries signed in Luanda six legal documents on bilateral cooperation with emphasis to the “Construction of Road to connect the border between Angola and Zambia.
Construction of Border Connection Roads between Angola and Zambia, Via Jimbe - Mwinulunga and Via Mapelenga (Malundo) – Sikongo” and the “Creation of a Binational Commission”".
The two countries share a long common border, with similar cultures and traditions. In some areas they speak the same local language and share the same traditional chief.
