Luanda - An exhibition entitled "Revolutions" which portrays the evolution of national liberation movements in Angola, Guinea-Bissau and Portugal, has been on display since Wednesday, May 15, at the National Museum in the Brazilian capital, Brasília.
The exhibition is a joint initiative of the embassies of Portugal and Italy, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the April revolution, which put an end to Portuguese colonization in Africa.
Composed of 56 paintings by Italian photojournalist Uliano Lucas, the exhibition is scheduled to close on July 7th.
The presentation is divided into three parts that correspond to three territories photographed between 1969-1974.
The first section reflects photographs taken in the liberated areas of Guinea-Bissau, the 2nd includes images of the “guerrillas de Angola” and the 3rd portrays Portugal in the final period of the dictatorship.
The ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Brazil, Manuel Eduardo Bravo, highlighted the importance and symbolism of the exhibition, recognizing that it is a brilliant initiative that makes parts of the struggles against colonialism and oppression.
