Luanda - The writer Beni Dya Mbaxi participated Tuesday in the Integration Week 2024 debate promoted by the Federal University of Western Bahia (UFOB).
The event held online on Tuesday, is part of the “DesPerTar” Program took place under the theme "Let's Wake Up to cultural diversity" mediated by student Venâncio Zagi.
Writer Beni Dya Mbaxi, who has two works published in Brazil, spoke about his literary career and the books that are being studied by some elementary schools.
Author of the book "A última Masoxi" (last tear), distinguished in South Africa with the Global Prize for African Writers, 2021 edition, Beni Dya Mbaxi was among the 150 young African writers included in the literary project.
In 2021, he was selected to compete in the Best Novel category of the "Strong Women, African Literature Awards” in Botswana. In October 2022 he received, at the South African Embassy in Angola, the "Annual Global African Author Awards” 2021 edition, in the children’s empowerment category, with the work “A última Masoxi”, published in 2020.
Beni Dya Mbaxi is the literary pseudonym of Bernardo Sebastião Afonso, born in Luanda, on May 28, 1997. He is a student of Portuguese Language and Communication at the Methodist University of Angola (UMA).
