Luanda - The Tchiweka Documentation Association (ATD) is since July 14, making available online to the public, part of its historical archive on the liberation struggles in the Portuguese-speaking African countries, ANGOP has learnt.
The association's website will make available the assets of the late nationalist and member of the ruling MPLA party, Lúcio Lara, the ATD says.
According to the ATD, this is an archive of capital importance, for being the first Angolan online archive dedicated to the history of the struggles against colonial rule.
"The advance towards the digitalization of documents and the option of access via the Internet, a logical choice for current archives, has become even more urgent due to the restrictions that Covid-19 has imposed on everyone," ATD says.
The ATD is a non-profit Angolan association, classified as a public utility since 2012. The Tchiweka Documentation Center manages a private archive that is governed by Angolan legislation, respecting the principles upheld by the Association.
ATD, which celebrates 15 years of existence, aims to organize and make accessible documentation that contributes to preserving the memory and deepening knowledge about the struggle of the Angolan people for independence and national sovereignty.
