Luanda - Several Angolan artists have shown their dismay over the death of the Antillean singer and songwriter Jacob Desvarieux, who died on July 30 in his country, victim of Covid-19.
On his Instagram page, music producer Sergio Belera wrote "great master thanks for the musical contribution, as co-founder of my favorite group Kassav and for your teachings over more than four decades in the service of Zouk, which you knew so well how to interpret."
The singer Yuri da Cunha, through the same social network, wrote that Jacob Desvarieux will never be forgotten, and thanked all the love that this artist gave, in the form of music, adding "Kassav forever.
The singer Paulo Flores posted a photo of the founders of the group Kassav, where Jacob was one of the leaders, with the caption, "thank you Jacob, Zouk was also our medicine.
This feeling of sorrow is also expressed by singer Yola Araújo, who posted a video clip of her song featuring Jacob Desvarieux with saying "my heart is sad, my friend left us and the world loses a great human being, good humored, happy and of good energy, not to mention that he was Jacob of the Kassav.
Jacob Desvarieux, 65, died Friday (July 30), victim of Covid-19, in a hospital in Guadeloupe.
The co-founder of the Kassav group had gone to the hospital for a simple routine medical examination on July 12 and tested positive for covid-19, even though he had already received two doses of the vaccine against the disease.
