Luanda - Artist Lilianne Kiame is in the city of Hamburg, Germany, participating in the Art School Alliance Artistic Residency program, lasting five months, ANGOP got informed today.
The program, which has Angolan participation for the first time, arises from a partnership between the Goethe-Institut Angola and the HFBK University of Fine Arts Hamburg.
It aims to intensify connections and exchange between art institutions, art students and young artists from around the world.
In Hamburg from the beginning of this week, Lilianne Kiame will have the opportunity to collaborate with students and teachers at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg during this year's summer term.
Lilianne Kiame's selection took place through a call for Angolan artists, launched by the Goethe-Institut Angola in October 2023, in which 29 candidates competed.
The artist is an architect and participated in the collective exhibition "For a New Tomorrow", in November 2022.
Open since June 15, 2009, the Goethe-Institut Angola was the first German institute in Portuguese-speaking African countries, whose priority from the beginning was cultural programming work.
Over this time, the Goethe-Institut Angola has developed work in partnership with several Angolan institutions and professionals in the cultural sector.
Lilianne Kiame is an Angolan artist, architect and designer whose work includes paintings, sculptures, installations and industrial design. She participated in the design of the Peace Pavilion for the 1st edition of the Luanda Biennial, "Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace”, organized by UNESCO, the African Union and the Government of Angola.
As an artist, she had her first collective exhibition at Jahmek Contemporary in Luanda, entitled "New Tomorrow”, alongside four Angolan artists. She is participating as an illustrator and designer in the production of the film "Hold Time for Me” by Fradique.
Still in the artistic field, she worked at Geração 80, a film producer, being interested in various stages of film production and distribution, as well as communication.
The artist has also contributed with a sculpture to the performance exhibition at the Humboldt Forum in Berlin, entitled "Chibinda Ilunga”.
