Luanda – Angola and Nicaragua on Wednesday, in Luanda, analyzed a proposal for a cooperation agreement in the cultural field, focusing on artistic exchange and also on the preservation of cultural heritage, ANGOP, learnt Friday.
According to the Ministry of Culture's facebook page, the proposal was confirmed, Wednesday, during a meeting between the minister of Culture, Filipe Zau, and the minister and counselor at the Nicaraguan Embassy in Angola, Carlos Aguiar.
The agreement proposes the creation of a collaboration program between both countries to promote cultural and artistic activities, including exhibitions, cultural weeks, exchanges between artists and cooperation in areas such as copyright, cinema and gastronomy.
The document stresses that the mutual study of national languages and the training of cultural agents in the areas of management and library sciences will be encouraged.
The presented agreement, which provides the protection of intellectual property rights and facilitates the exchange of cultural materials between the two countries, will last for five years, with the possibility of renewal, and should enter into force after final approval by the right authorities from both countries.
Angola and Serbia address cooperation
On the other hand, minister Filipe Zau discussed with the ambassador of Serbia, Milos Perisic, the implementation of the Cultural Cooperation Program between the two countries, in force from 2024 to 2026.
The program, signed in Belgrade and made official by Presidential Decree No. 207/24, seeks to strengthen cultural ties and promote artistic and heritage exchanges.
During the meeting, the elaboration of an Action Plan was discussed, which will be defined between officials from the Ministry of Culture of Angola and Serbia, as well as representatives from the embassies of both countries.
The program, approved on October 8, 2024, will strengthen the link between Angola and Serbia through joint cultural initiatives, such as exhibitions, artistic exchanges and educational projects.
The preserving and enhancing of cultural heritage stands out, including actions related to protection, restoration, maintenance and creation of cultural assets.
It also highlights the integration of the National Policy on Forests, Wild Fauna and Conservation Areas, promoting activities that reinforce the link between culture, sustainability and environmental preservation.
Meanwhile, this agreement represents a continuation of the plan to expand Angolan culture and identity, through national promotion on the international stage.
