Dundo - The International University of Cuanza (UNIC), which has been established since 2021, has said it will implement its first university campus next year in Lucapa municipality, Lunda-Norte province.
This was announced Saturday by the Spanish ambassador accredited to Angola, Manuel Lejarreta, at the end of a working visit to Lunda-Norte, accompanied by the Minister for Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Paula De Oliveira.
According to the diplomat, the implementation of this pole, which will operate on the premises of the Lucapa Medium Polytechnic Institute, is part of UNIC's expansion program under partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education.
The ambassador said the center will offer courses in the technical, engineering and health fields and that in the first phase, students will attend the first and second year here at the Lucapa campus and then finish at the central campus in Cuito.
In addition to Lucapa, he continued, there are also plans to set up a center in the municipality of Cambulo.
With 15 degrees focused on engineering, health, management and law, UNIC is the result of a partnership between the Ibero-American University Foundation and the European University of the Atlantic, which together form the Euro-African University Foundation.
The university is geared towards training staff at graduate and postgraduate level in various areas of knowledge.
The province of Lunda-Norte has one higher education institution, Universidade Lueji A'nkonde, in the public sector, which offers courses in Economics, Law and Education Sciences. HD/AMP
