Huambo – The José Eduardo dos Santos University (UJES) in Huambo Province made available 890 vacancies only for undergraduate courses, for the academic year 2024/2025, 146 fewer than in the previous period, ANGOP learned.
These are vacancies for the faculties of Agricultural Sciences (70), Law (160), Economics (200), Veterinary Medicine (70) and the Higher Polytechnic Institute (390), while Medicine will not receive new students.
Speaking to ANGOP, the dean of UJES, Virgínia Lacerda Quartin, said that the vacancies are for degree courses in Agricultural and Forestry Engineering, Law, Economics, Aquaculture and Veterinary Medicine, Architecture, Electromedicine, Nursing, Electronics and Telecommunications, Civil Construction, Hydraulics, Information Technology (IT), Mechanics and Clinical Laboratory.
He said that close to 4,204 candidates compete for the 890 vacancies available in the five units, of the six controlled by the José Eduardo dos Santos University (UJES), whose entrance tests began on the 19th of this month.
Virgínia Lacerda Quartin informed that one of the aims of the university is to transform the experience into an agricultural and farming training center, which involves raising awareness among all the living forces of society, to work together in this direction and achieve these objectives in the medium term.
Postgraduate
At the postgraduate level, UJES approved for the academic year 2023/2024, the launch of a doctoral, three master's degrees and two specializations course, at the faculties of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, as well as at the Polytechnic Institute, within the scope of the Angolan Higher Education Support Program (UNI.AO).
These are doctorates in Agro-food Technology, master's degrees in Veterinary Medicine, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing and Forestry and Environmental Sciences, in addition to specializations in New Technologies Applied to Health and Small Ruminant Production. JSV/ALH/MRA/DOJ
