Talatona - The Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria do Rosário Bragança Sambo, on Tuesday in Luanda defended the commitment of the country's universities to technical and professional training, to allow the rapid integration of young people into the labour market.
The minister, who was speaking at the award ceremony of the 'Seeds for the Future 2024' program, which certifies 40 students who participated in the 5th edition, congratulated the young people who benefited from the training program, provided by Hawei and Unitel.
She added that the initiative, framed in the social responsibility of these two companies, aims to improve skills in the fields of Information and Communication Technologies.
Maria do Rosário Bragança considered the social responsibility of companies to be fundamental, having reasoned that many initiatives respond to essential challenges, especially those that fall within the Government's program.
She considered the training grant as a contribution to the fundamental axes of the Government's National Development Program (NDP) 2023-2027 and the long-term strategy Angola 2050.
She reiterated that the ministry has a memorandum with Huawei aimed at student training, and that it is intended to extend the partnership signed in teacher training.
The annual 'Seeds For The Future' program aims to train the most outstanding university students in advanced technologies, covering crucial areas such as fixed and mobile broadband (5G) networks, cloud computing, internet of things (IoT) and smart cities, as well as to promote academic excellence and consolidate practical skills and provide valuable immersion in Chinese culture.
