Saurimo – The Luíadas Higher Polytechnic Institute in Lunda-Sul is holding, today, Sunday, the first edition of the athletics event, in Saurimo, in honor of the birthday of the academic institution's patron saint, Rui Mingas.
Speaking to ANGOP, the institution's director of Academic Affairs, Zangue dos Santos, said that 30 athletes participated in the race, including students, teachers and friends of Lusíada, on a route of more than 15 kilometers.
The official highlighted that, in addition to the athletics competition, the institution will hold, on the same day, the futsal final, whose main objective is to entertain the academic class and students, as well as serving as a moment of reflection on the date.
There will also be lectures on the emergence of the Lusíada as well as a march to raise the awareness of motorists and passersby about the dangers of the roads.
Established in 1998, in Luanda, the Lusíada University of Angola (ULA) is proud to be one of the first private higher education institutions in the country, promoting rigor and quality in education and research.
In the province of Lunda-Sul, the institution emerged in 2013, hosting courses in Law, Human Resources Management, Psychology and Economics, having already placed more than a thousand senior graduated in the labor-market.
