Lubango- Higher Institute of Educational Sciences (ISCED) in southern Huíla province has announced plans to launch a pedagogical aggregation course in February, stating that the objective is to revive Technical Education in Vocational Training in Angola.
The course, which does not lead to obtaining a degree, will be taught in partnership with the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal in Portugal, according to the president of ISCED-Huíla, Helder Bahu.
The one-year training is free and is part of a project funded by the European Union, through the Camões Institute.
The project will cover the ISCED in Benguela, Huambo, Huíla, Luanda and Uíge, he told ANGOP Friday, in Lubango.
Bahu said that the training arises from the concern with the issue of teaching skills, as people have the technical component, but difficulties in working the contents to teach.
The goal is to focus on those technical areas that also involve “teachers” without pedagogical aggregation, specifically in the areas of health and professional technical education, in order to properly qualify them.
According to Helder Bahu, the staff will be equipped with tools to obtain instruments related to teaching techniques, the famous pedagogical didactic component, so that they can teach with more propriety.
“We are thinking of starting the course on the 25th of February, with 30 to 35 trainees in a class. We will only need to confirm the enrollments”, he said, adding that teaching staff have already been selected.
According to him, the training will be given in a modular system and, in addition to this method, it will work at the level of several academics, in principle with the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, which will interact with local teachers already selected.
ISCED-Huíla exists since 1980 as one of the fundamental organic units of Universidade Agostinho Neto and was reorganised in 2009 by Decree No. provincial level.
