Cazenga- The vice-governor of Luanda for the political and social sector, Manuel Gonçalves, reaffirmed, on Friday, the continuous support for community schools, with teaching materials and pedagogical issues to improve the teaching and learning system at various levels.
The official made these statements during a local production fair of an education initiative, promoted by the NGO Association of Community Schools, in the Historical Landmark “4 de Fevereiro”, municipality of Cazenga, in Luanda.
He added that it is necessary to understand how organized community schools are at the level of the communities that have been transformed, as part of the process of literacy and school acceleration in the province of Luanda.
In his opinion, it is necessary to have harmony with the education and teaching system in the capital, because children who know how to read and write even when they are not linked to the State, but in community rooms and volunteer teachers who support these projects, is a fact satisfactory.
For the vice-governor, there is an urgent need to establish a strategy to work more closely with NGOs and find joint solutions, fundamentally in the search for partnerships to provide other quality and accommodation conditions for children.
For his part, the coordinator of the Association of Community Schools, Neves Bunga, made it known that within the scope of this program, more than 51 thousand students were enrolled nationwide, provided by 95 volunteer teachers, in the provinces of Luanda, Bengo, Uíge and Cabinda.
He stressed that the existence of the Association in the communities is to, in some way, fill the gaps in areas with no public education and remove children who are outside the education system.
The local production fair with an exhibition of artistic drawings, books and cardboard materials, was promoted under the motto 'Community education schools 18 years, contributing to the sustainability of basic schooling in Angola'.
The Angolan NGO was founded on May 12, 2011, with the aim of assisting the Government in resolving the people's educational problems.PLA/ACS/PA/DOJ
