Cazenga – The Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) closed school No. 3,043 “Escola Grande”, in the district of Tala-Hady, municipality of Cazenga, due to the risk of collapse, ANGOP got informed today.
The information was provided by the teaching unit's deputy director, Ezequiel José, adding that the school, which has 29 classrooms, was closed two weeks ago following an inspection by technicians from the Angola Engineering Laboratory (LEA), who confirmed the risk of collapse.
“GPL instructed the Municipal Administration of Cazenga to close the aforementioned school, in order to preserve, first and foremost, the good life, since the four-story building has been vibrating”, he explained.
With its deactivation, he said, the students were transferred to other schools in the municipality, so they could finish the academic year.
“We still don’t know what will be the fate of the infrastructure, whether it will be demolished or rehabilitated, but the fact is that all students were transferred and some had to change their schedule,” he added.
