Luanda – The Israeli Embassy held, in Luanda, a meeting with Angolan staff trained by MASHAV, Israeli Agency for International Cooperation, as part of a program of interaction, exchange and constant consultation between the two parties.
A press release, to which ANGOP had access, states that at the meeting, which took place on Thursday, at the official residence, the Israeli ambassador to Angola, Shimon Solomon, expressed the desire to see the Angolan Government promote young graduates by MASHAV, taking advantage of the vast experience and knowledge acquired by former scholarship holders.
For Shimon Solomon, there are many MASHAV graduates in Angola, in different sectors, from civil protection and firefighters, health, business management, aviation, judiciary, agriculture and others who contribute to overcoming the country's challenges.
Since 2017, more than 200 Angolans have attended courses in the areas of agriculture, education, renewable energy, environment, public security, response to risk situations, sustainable development, laws, communication, entrepreneurial skills, among others.
“Angola has great potential. With these great professionals and Israel's experience we can have real and practical cooperation in many areas with a profound impact on people's lives”, he highlighted.
He added that the idea is to always improve and also bring specialists from Israel to Angola, as happened in Kenya, Ghana and Ethiopia, countries that have a specific attaché for MASHAV to liaise with the Government.
Another example highlighted is Rwanda where Israel contributes with a large MASHAV center that offers courses with social impact, he stated.
The event also served to discuss ways of boosting the work of this agency in Angola, as well as increasing the participation of professionals in courses to be offered by the Israeli Government.
On the occasion, Shimon Solomon presented MASHAV's new course application platform, which will soon be available in Angola, and invited members of the Executive and businesspeople to participate in the Water Industry Fair, from the 16th to the 19th of September, in the Hebrew State, an event that highlights the importance of reliable access to water.
In turn, the director of the SADC department for the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Belaynesh Zvadia, explained MASHAV's vision of providing greater support from Angolan society, while Royel Gilad, charge d'affaires at the Israeli Embassy in Angola, gave to know the situation regarding the war in Gaza.
