Cuito - The provincial director of the Ministry of Education (MED) in Bié, Amado Leonardo André, asked on Monday, for greater action by school inspectors, aiming to ensure its functioning, to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
The provincial director was speaking at the opening of the IV technical meeting on inspection practices, addressed to more than a hundred school inspectors from the province's 9 municipalities.
He said that the training action will allow the sharing of knowledge and inspection strategies, to overcome the difficulties that exist in school institutions.
Without going into detail about the issues that schools face, he said that it is also expected to improve the mechanisms for collecting statistical data, so that the Govt and municipal Admins, through the supervisory sector, can respond to the real needs of educational institutions.
The deputy-governor for the political, economic and social sector, Alcida de Jesus Camatele Sandumbo, urged the trainees to learn the content correctly, aiming to increase the performance of teachers and students in schools.
The IV technical meeting on inspection practices takes place under the motto: "Inspection of Education, Strengthening Schools for the Quality of Teaching and Learning".
For one day, the event will address topics such as the phenomena of student absenteeism, causes and proposals for mitigating it, the inspector and the challenges of inspection in the exercise of his role, inspection strategies and pedagogical supervision in the province, among others.
The Education Office in Bié enrolled more than 550k students from beginning to 2nd cycle of secondary education throughout the province in the current academic year. It controls 827 schools and 13 thousand 800 teachers.
