Dundo – Construction work on the university campus in Dundo, in the province of Lunda-Norte, which will house the faculties of Economics and Law at Lueji A'nkonde University, will be finished in October this year.
The information was disclosed Wednesday in Dundo by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria do Rosário Bragança, at the end of a working visit to Lunda-Norte province, emphasizing that the completion of the work will triple the number of students at the two faculties.
According to Maria do Rosario Bragança, the works have reached a physical completion rate of around 42.50 per cent and so far the contractor has met the contractual deadlines, which gives guarantees that it will be finished by October this year.
He called on the contractors to continue with the same momentum, taking advantage of this time of year (dry weather), so that the infrastructure would be available to the academic community this year.
ANGOP has learnt that the structures and/or buildings have all been completed, and work is underway on the roof, electricity, plumbing, fire-fighting, air-conditioning pipes, among others.
The Dundo university campus, with 74 classrooms, has been under construction in the urban district of Mussungue since 2022, on an area of 19,000 square metres.
The Construction work was budgeted at 50 million US dollars, includes a rectory building, two rooms for mock trials, residences for students and teachers, libraries, an auditorium, administrative and leisure areas, among other compartments inherent to academic activity.
The project financed by Endiama EP, will accommodate more than 3,000 students each year on the Law and Economics programmes, in a first phase.
