Dundo- The Bank of Commerce and Industry (BCI) and Lueji A'nkonde University (ULAN) on Thursday, in the province of Lunda Norte, signed a memorandum of understanding to grant scholarships to the institution's best students.
As part of the "BCI Excellence Scholarships" Program, the memorandum aims to support students with the best academic profiles in Law and Economics courses.
The agreement was signed by the chairman of the Board of Directors (CEO) of BCI, Pedro Luís da Fonseca, and by the Rector of Lueji A'nkonde University, Alfredo Manuel.
At the time, BCI's CEO, Pedro da Fonseca, informed that the initiative aims to promote academic excellence in the country's higher education institutions, so that graduates are up to the challenges of the country's development.
He revealed that the bank has 200 scholarships available per year, for public and private universities in the country, in Law, Medicine, Economics and Agronomy courses.
In turn, the rector of Lueji A'nkonde University, Alfredo Manuel, praised the BCI initiative, highlighting that it will encourage students to work harder to achieve excellence.
The rector added the support from the banking institution will minimize the financial difficulties faced by students during their training, as well as stimulate scientific research.
He appealed to students, especially those facing economic difficulties due to not having a source of income, to take advantage of the program.
