Luanda – The general education resumes next Monday 17 January, announced Thursday the Coordinator of the Multisectorial Commission for Prevention and Fight against Covid-19, Francisco Pereira Furtado.
The restarting of the classroom lessons was suspended on 03 of the current month after the festive season break due to the increase of the number of positive cases of the covid-19 in the country.
The school calendar of 2021/2022 establishes that the second semester should have started on 03 January and to close on 15 April.
Francisco Pereira Furtado who was speaking to press at the end of a meeting of the technical commission stated that there are conditions for the return of the students to classes, despite the epidemiologic status still being under concern.
However, the official warned that although in the last two weeks have been registered a sharp drop of new positive cases should continue to redouble the prevention actions and vaccination of people.
The 2021/2022 academic year, officially started on 31 August 2021, ends on 24 July 2022.
