Luena – The Association of Physical Education Teachers in Angola (APEFA) intends to offer training, in 2025, teachers without secondary and higher education in physical education, especially in primary schools across the country.
The intention was expressed Thursday, by the APEFA Chairperson, Virgílio Cardoso, at the end of the IV national meeting of professionals from that association, which took place from the 20th to the 22nd of this month at the Luena's House of Culture.
The Head of APEFA stated that teacher training will provide them with technical and theoretical skills to better perform their duties.
“We are going to combat the practice in a pedagogical way, as many of them have been teaching the subject for a long time”, stressed the president, warning that, especially when working with children, it represents a huge danger in terms of student health.
Virgílio Cardoso defended the creation of a training school for physical education teachers throughout the country, mainly in eastern Angola.
The event was attended by more than 90 physical education teachers from 12 of the country's 18 provinces, and was guided by the motto "To improve competence, rigor and excellence in physical education classes", during the three days.
The participants chose the province of Cabinda as the location for the V national meeting, in 2025.
The APEFA was founded in 2022 and has more than 200 members. LTY/YD/CF/DOJ
